This year collector's can enjoy a view of the
walled castle at Kronborg, that was the dramatic setting of
Shakespeare's Hamlet. In the foreground flies a swan,
the Danish national bird, and inevitably our thoughts go to
HCA's fairy tale of the Ugly Duckling. Denmark is in the
grip of an icy winter, and the Sound has frozen over.
The artist has captured the atmosphere of deep silence that
shrouds the
landscape when a severe frost sets in. The
only sound is the whirring beat of the swan's wings.
This year the Christmas Plate Series include several products
with this year's motif: the bell, cup and saucer,
ornament, drop, and this year's new item, a bonbonniere.
