Motherly Love Series

With his usual flair for details, sculptor Allan Therkelsen has created a new series of figurines for Royal Copenhagen called Motherly Love.

A Polar Bear with cub and a Penguin with young were the first two figurines in the series.  These were followed by a Musk Ox with calf and a Seal with pup.

Royal Copenhagen presented its underglaze figurines for the first time at the Paris World's Fair in 1889. The graceful figurines with their soft, beautiful colors, hand-painted on porcelain under the luminous glaze, aroused a great deal of well-deserved attention.
