Strong off spring still need the protection of their mother. The hippopotamus knows this and she protects her baby like only few can do. The Mother’s Day plate has been issued every year since 1969. Designed by artist Allan Therkelsen, the motif is – as always – depicted in the beautiful, blue colors of the underglaze.
