The Windmill will be introducing an old book called ‘Thomas”. Written by deceased author and Danish Immigrant Nathaniel Christensen, who was also the father of the late Karl Christensen of Elk Horn. “Thomas” was published in 1959 by Vintage Press. These books were saved from a dump truck at a household auction. This novel about Scandinavian-Americans in Minnesota is a deeply moving story of people, their hopes, fears, joys, sorrows, and challenges to professing Christians in an age when wars are too seldom questioned. The author devoted most of his life to music but had written a number of stories, poems, and articles. He was a student at the Elk Horn College. He was known as Choirmaster Peter Eskild (his two middle names).
